SINGAPORE STUDIES JUNIOR SCHOLAR SEMINAR SERIES: CALL FOR PROPOSALS

AcademiaSG invites doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work in our new series of virtual seminars. The Singapore Studies Junior Scholar Seminars aim to provide a venue for geographically and disciplinarily dispersed new scholars to share their research on Singapore, and to connect with faculty and other students worldwide.

We welcome proposals from PhD students and Post-Doctoral scholars not yet in permanent academic positions; of any nationality; and who are engaging in humanities or social science research on Singapore, including comparative work with a significant Singapore component.

Selected presenters will deliver a 20–30 minute presentation, which will be followed by an open question-and-answer session. AcademiaSG will arrange for a faculty respondent to provide expert feedback, including guidance on potential publication opportunities.

If you are satisfied with your performance, we would be happy to post the seminar recording on our website to reach a larger post-event audience. You can decide after your seminar.

• a 500-word abstract;
• a 200-word bio/statement, specifying how the proposal fits into your programme of study and future plans, and how the seminar would help you; and
• contact details of an academic referee.
