As Singapore heads into leadership transition and an increasingly uncertain global environment, what are the key trends and developments in Singapore politics? What are the risks and opportunities the country and its citizens face? AcademiaSG and the Malaysia and Singapore Association of Australia (MASSA) bring together experts on Singapore politics and foreign policy for a discussion about things to watch.

Panelists

CHONG JA IAN works on foreign policy and security issues in East Asia. He is an associate professor of political science at the National University of Singapore and non-resident scholar with Carnegie China.

HAN FOOK KWANG is a senior fellow at the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University. He was Editor, The Straits Times, from 2002 to 2012.

ELVIN ONG, an assistant professor of Political Science at the National University of Singapore, is currently a Fulbright visiting scholar at the Council on Southeast Asia Studies, Yale University. He researches democratisation and opposition parties in East and Southeast Asia.

REBECCA GRACE TAN is a lecturer in political science at the National University of Singapore where she teaches courses on Singapore politics, international migration, and human rights.
